The batteries should be replaced every 6 months or when the low battery chirp sounds. When smoke or CO is detected, the red LED light flashes, accompanied by a loud 85-decibel alarm to signal danger. The test-hush button makes it easy to test battery operation and silence nuisance alarms. This self-testing alarm is easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. Equipped with end-of-life notifications, the alarm will beep to remind you when it’s time to replace it after 10 years of use.
